Well this Christmas season started out on a very stressing note this year. The transmission went out on the truck and had to be fixed the weekend before Christmas which in turn set back some already made plans. We had to put off a bill because we needed the money to buy the new transmission so that Bill could still get to work and that also meant that some gifts did not get bought nor given...if you want to know where yours is it is under the truck hehe.
I did however accomplish getting the blankets that I was making done. They turned out very nice. Pictures to come later today when I get them uploaded to my computer. I have more that I am going to be making and maybe even selling after the first of the year. We will see how that goes in the new year. We are going to be very busy these next few months after the first of the year, lots of things we have to do to get some stuff taken care of.
Had some little issues the day of Christmas however but we did not let that get in the way of us celebrating a very important time for us. It is sad to say that I had to block someone from seeing any post that I make to my facebook because I did not appreciate nor did I ask for this person to say the things they said. I have been known back in the day to debut on somethings that I hold dear to my heart but never on this one subject nor do I really ever want to. I do not have a facebook to use for debuting on things unless I just down right ask in my post for others opinions on the matter. It was just one persons way of trying to make a very happy family time into a horrible time but we did not let that happen.
My Christmas was good for the most part being with some very loving and caring people was great but I was thinking about some very special people who we were not around this year (and in no way were we avoiding them we just had made other plans) and I know that they or at least one of them was having a very hard time this year. Our not being with my husbands family was in no way a reaction to drama that may be going on nor was it meant to make people feel we have issues with them. We needed to be able to have this time to our self and grieve (which we still are doing) in our own way. Holidays are hard on everyone and for us it is even harder when our FAMILY is so BIG. We try to make accommodations for everyone but with everyone being spread out it gets hard. Bill and I never intended on hurting anyone feelings but you have to understand that we don't make set plans for the holidays because nothing ever works out perfectly and things for us change because that just how we are. I don't think we will ever have set plans for much of anything but my Ashtyn's Birthday and our Anniversary (which this next one is going to be very hard on us cause it will be the one year mark of my Sister in Law Rhonda's passing.)
On another note, Ashtyn had a great Christmas, lots of gifts, and got to spend time with her cousins that she only gets to see a few times a year. She had a blast and was just telling me that she had a good dinner at her Me-maws and wants to know when we are going back up there. The girl loves getting to spend time with them. I think I hear a week in the summer coming soon but we will see. Santa brought one of the best gifts this year because she loves it so much, her Leapster 2, and it keeps her busy while I tend to other things. Oh and it has given me the best gift idea for her 5th birthday in April. Wow can't believe this little girl is going to be 5 next year and she will be starting school in the fall too.

Sick and Lazy
Excuse me!
Did someone hit my get sick and be lazy button. Ugh, this weather changing ever few days or so is killing me. I was sick before the Thanksgiving holidays and now I have been sick these past few days can it please just go away. I have a long list of things that I must do before the Christmas holiday and no time for being sick, so just stop it now. I did however manage to get the tree up and decorated a few presents wrapped and just about all the material cut for the 5 Rag Quilts that I am making as Christmas presents. I still need to go buy the material to go with three of them though and soon because I need to have them done by the 18th so that we can give them to them on the 19th. Why do I do this to myself every year? Since I started making gifts a few years back I have been bad about waiting till the last month to get them started and done in time. But some how I manage.
My sister in law, Jenny, and I have decided to make a few jar gift this year. I am making the cocoa mix in a jar and she is making a few of something else just some thing little to give to the adults in the family. We have way to many family members to be buying for everyone or at least my family does...there are a lot of us considering I have eight (8) siblings, that doesn't count the in laws on both sides of my family, and about 24 nieces and nephews. One big happy (not always) family. That make for a lot of people in one family and it gets crazy at times but we all have good times when we get together.
Well I really don't have much to report on right now so I will get to my projects before I procrastinate again.

A Week of Thanks Leads to Drama
We had a very blessed and busting at the seams Thanksgiving week. My husband and I and our daughter spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my family just north of Fort Worth. We had a great time, Ashtyn got to spend it playing with all her cousins and we took lots of pictures since the whole family was in one place at the same time, what a trip. Had a great day of shopping on Black Friday minus the lippy people and almost coming out of the store with nothing but I have my Christmas shopping done. I was tired from being up for almost 30 hours straight but so worth it and very memorable. We got to see my sister Amanda's new baby and I still have baby fever. I can't wait till we have another little one running around the house again.
On another note, We got a call last night that they had to call the EMS out to my sister in laws house because my mother in law was having problems breathing. The local hospital admitted her but then had to have her transferred to a bigger hospital in Houston. We have not heard much except that she is doing a bit better now that they are keeping her oxygen at a normal level. I'll update more when I know more later today when we find out more.
*Edited *
My mother in law was put on a ventilator but breathing a whole lot easier and they said that she is not ready to be off it yet though. So please still keep her in your prayers.
Drama is for the birds and I don't want no part of it.
I am just gonna wash my hands of this feeling that I have had all day. I took away what I wrote because there was more to what needed to be said then I could really explain on here or if I am ready to even deal with it myself. I do however want to say that not everything one hears from someone else is the complete truth nor is it a lie, more then likely a half truth. We know what we must do and that never been far from our minds and we know that we would just like it keep from being an affair and understood that we are doing what we can to rectify the situation as fast as we can but sometimes life does have a bump along the way. For us it was a great big one that lead to other little ones. I would never have changed it but I would not have let it get us this far off the track we were on.
So I leave you with this, Do you have family members that don't understand you nor do they try to nor do they know what you are truly going through just bits of what they hear from so and so? How does this make you feel and how do you handle?

Un- Something or Other
What?!?! where did the last few days go. I so have not done anything that I said I was going to do. I did however manage to get all the laundry done and folded. Now to just get it packed in the bags, straighten the house, try to get some sleep, and hit the road tomorrow.
Going to be a L...O...N...G day tomorrow starting around 5 in the morning. Did I tell you that I hate driving anymore but I have to if we are going to get up to my families place at a decent hour. I will be dropping Bill off at work (that is if he even has to work tomorrow), heading to pick up my little brother, back to pick up Bill from work, then the almost 4 hour drive to Fort Worth. It will so be worth it in the end though. I will get to see the babies again and when I say babies that is because there will be 3 of them. That is if my sister Amanda makes it to Thanksgiving that is. I am so ready for some turkey and all the fixings but gonna try and watch how much I eat cause I tend to over indulge myself. Plus, we are doing pictures too, I love pictures.
Oh, I have my lists and yes there is more then one for the Friday after Thanksgiving shopping. There are going to be a lot of good deals that I hope I can get my hands on. Got lots of little ones to buy for this year but good thing a big chunk of it is all stuff that I plan on making for them. Yeah!!! for being very crafty. My sister in law Jenny and I decided to do some crafting together while I am up there for Thanksgiving, if it all works out right we will have a few adult gifts as well.
Well, I still have a good bit of stuff that needs to be done today and sitting here blogging about it is not getting it done. This will be my last blog until after Thanksgiving hope to have pictures to post in the next one.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Just Over A Month
Thirty-five days to be precise!
I am NO where near ready for this Christmas, I have lots of projects to get done and very little time to get it all done. At least 5 sewing projects which should have been started already but I have been sick and out of town. Another baby girl craft to do since I don't know what else to get her but I may just buy them if I find someone selling them at a reasonable price and then make my own after the holidays. I really need to get my but to the fabric store but I am holding out for the Friday after Thanksgiving sales to get most of the stuff I need. Plus, I am wanting to see if Mom will embroider some pieces for me to put on my gifts, something saying who made it and when. One of my big projects for today is seeing what all I already have and get it set a side and write down a list of everything I still need.
On another note, I am losing the weight and so is Bill. Since we started talking again about trying to have a baby again we both decided that we should lose some weight first. Bill said he is fine getting down to 175 (I think he said that he has like 4 more pounds to go) but I still say he could lose a bit more. I would be just happy seeing the scale read less then 150 right now I am sitting at 187. I am so proud of him too. He said he would quit smoking again and help more around the house and he has been doing just that well maybe not helping around the house has much as I thought he would be, but I understand since he has been working a lot these last few days and tired when he gets home. We did a big clean over the weekend too so that helped.
Not much else has been going on right now and it been pretty quiet so I am going to leave you for now with hopes of getting my stuff done today so I know where to go tomorrow.

Babies and Christmas
So how have y'all been these past few weeks?
Me, I am doing real good minus this cold that I have going on right now, the kiddo has it too so we have just been taking it easy since we got back from our 2 week trip. The trip to be with my brother Richard and his wife Jenny was amazing. My nephew Layton Richard S. was born Oct. 29, 2010 at 12:26 pm by C-section, weighing 6lbs 15oz and 19 3/4 in long. Mom Jenny and baby are doing great, he has his days and nights a little mixed up right now but he'll get on track soon. Their daughter Lynlee is a big sister now and being her crazy little self. I am so proud of them, they have it all together and are learning each day that it takes time to learn all there is to learn of running a family. I can't wait till Thanksgiving so I can hold that baby boy again.
Thinking about babies, I got a touch of baby fever while I was there. Bill and I have started the talk again about bring another baby into our home. I am not saying we are talking about adopting again, we are actually talking about trying again to see if we can have one on our own. Lots of things need to be worked out first like both of us need to get back in shape, now I am not saying we are fat just not at the ideal weight for either of us at this point. Bill has decided again to quit smoking which I am all for cause that will make him feel better and NO MORE SECOND HAND SMOKE. I had already started a while back to lose a few pounds cause I was just feeling miserable and almost at the 200 mark( 198 was the highest), not a good thing for my small self. As of today I am at 189 and very proud to say that it is coming off just very slowly. Plus side of losing the weight is that we already have one child and she is very energetic and keeps us on our toes all the time and getting in shape will help in keeping up with her as she gets older and into ore things like sports, school, and more.
Oh My Word! can you believe that Christmas is just 42 days away. I have barely started my Christmas shopping, how is the world am I going to get it all done. I really don't have a lot that we are buying for gifts since we have decided that we are just buying for the kids (little ones that is) in the family this year. Somethings have to be bought that I just can't make but others will be getting something handmade. On that note I really need to make a list of stuff that I need to get from the fabric store. Thanks MOM for the fabric that I got from you while I was up there someone is getting a nice something or other when I finally figure out what to do with it.
So has to note let this post get much longer then it already is I hope and wish everyone a great weekend. Hope you all stay warm and dry.

Quilts, Chicken Pox, and More...oh my.
Can you believe it is almost noon already, where has the time got away to...
I did get some of Jenny's baby blanket cut out yesterday. I am hoping to have it all cut a laid out today so that I can start sewing it together. I want to have all the sewing down before I leave for 2 weeks, I don't want to have to take the sewing machine if I don't have to. After making the fleece no sew blanket for Ashtyn and posting the picture, my sister Katie seen it and said she wanted one too. So, while I am spending time up there with them I will be taking her to the fabric store to pick out her material to make one for her. I love when I make something and someone likes the work I do and wants one. On that note I do have someone who is going to be paying me to do some quilts for her and I need to get the material and start working on them, NOW!
Ashtyn and her daddy where having an interesting conversation the other night and I just have to share a bit of it with you all. They were sitting in the recliner and Ashtyn was looking at the scars on Bill from when he had the Chicken Pox. She asked him where those scars came from and he said from when he had the Chicken Pox...Ashtyn replied to that with "I don't want momma to buy me none of those Chicken Pox." I just about fell out of my chair with laughter. Kids her age crack me up with the stuff they say, she surprises me everyday with her big vocabulary, saying words that I did not even know she knew. I am so proud of my lil angel.
Halloween is coming up, is everyone ready? Ashtyn and I will be spending this Halloween with my family in NRH,TX, her daddy will probably miss this one since we will be at home but I am going to make sure to take lots of pictures so that he can still feel like he was with us. I am just going to use the dress-up outfit that Ashtyn's cousin Krissy got her for Christmas last year, Tinkerbell. I am not sure how dressed up I will be this year but I do plan on doing something.
This year is just about up, can't believe Halloween is just around the corner then come Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years! Where has this year gone?
I leave you for now, with just one thing, LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH!

Eventful
Sunday was very eventful...we started the day after coffee and breakfast by going to the laundromat to do some laundry. The laundromat we went to this time had lots of people in there and this one guy with his two girls one of them Ashtyn's age. Soon as we walked in there and started putting our stuff in to the washer this little girl, her name was Ruby, was so outgoing and not shy at all started playing with Ashtyn and talking to me like we had known each other forever. She was to cute though, asking why Ashtyn could not go back to the back where they had some games and wanting to know why Ashtyn went to the truck with her daddy. She even tried to share a pickle with Ashtyn but you know me and the parent I am, I was not gonna be letting that happen. Ruby was just too funny though because Bill took Ashtyn out to the truck while I finished up the laundry and all she did was ask me all kinds of things like if Ashtyn went to school, why did Ashtyn get in to trouble, why was she being mean. I was kind of glad when they moved on to the dryer area until I moved to put my clothes i the dryer and what do you know they were right near me again but it was all good though.
We took Ashtyn to the park after leaving the landromat so she could run off some of that energy she has everyday. She is my little tomboy because she runs and jumps and climbs on everything even doing things that her dad and I just cringe at thinking here we go another trip to the ER for some kind freak accident. There have been two trips so far, one to have staple put in the top of her head after she cut the top of her head open on the rail under my kitchen table(which I removed myself a week later), and the other to have her a cut on her forehead bonded(liquid stitch) shut after she cut it open by banging her head on the door hinge (her daddy just told her she was going to get hurt if she did not get down off the chair while I was sweeping.)
Well, I posted that I was going to be starting the baby blanket for Jenny (Sister in law) and I am going to be doing just that later today. I can't wait to get started on this one I think it is going to turn out great. I already said that I was going to do this one in a rag quilt pattern and I am excited to get started on this just to see how it turns out and if I can even get it done before the baby in born. Which I think I can get it done since it should be simple to do. I have included the link to the video how to that I was looking at that gave me the idea to do one this way.
Yesterday, Ashtyn and I stayed home and just lounged around the house until Bill was on his way home. Do you know Ashtyn laughs every time her daddy or I have to carry her across the road around here. I decided to just have Bill meet us at Kroger when he got off work so that meant Ashtyn and I would be walking there. I had to cross through the intersection twice on the way there and each time I just picked up Ashtyn and ran across when it was time to go. She giggled the whole time and it was funny cause here I am only 5ft. 1in. carrying my 3ft. 3in. child across the road and she was just bouncing around head bobbing in the wind. OMG, she is half as tall as me...I can see it now she will be standing taller then me by the time she is in her teen years but then again everyone just about in my family is taller then me.
Okay, I think I'll leave this for today or at least till later today when I post some pictures of the rag quilt that I am going to get started here real soon. Hope y'all are liking what your reading so far. TTYL.

TTYL.

This Way!

Nope,
that is not what I wanted.
Let me start again.
HI! I am Michelle, no one special really, just me. In a nut shell I think I am a pretty ordinary person. I am a bit shy when I first meet people and I am known to just sit there quietly most time but get me started on something and I really get into it if I am passionate about it. Some may say that I am a bit on the crazy side leaning towards the witch side if you get my drift. I am the second oldest of EIGHT children, with very dysfunctional family....at least I think that might be one word to describe us. I married my best friend, Bill, in June of 2002. We brought our daughter Ashtyn home April of 2006 and finalized the adoption in May of 2009.
Lets get back to the point of me doing this blog. I find I have a lot of things that I want to post about from something that may be on my mind at the moment, a craft project that Ashtyn and I are doing, more then likely a lot of blogging about my crafty habit that I have like the blanket I just put together for Ashtyn. You just have to stick around to see what I can come up to blog about next. As for this post I start with that blanket I referred to.
I bought these two yards of fleece material (a yard a piece of each color/pattern) with thoughts on making them into a blanket for her (or maybe 2 of them) but I just never got around to it and they sat in a box in my closet. That was until this morning when I finally figured it out. I found a site with instructions on how to make a knotted blanket and it was a no sew one at that. I really was not in the mood to sew, seeing that I just finished a detailed pattern blanket for my niece Kerri's new baby girl earlier this month. She is a cutie by the way! Back to the the fleece blanket, one side is pink camouflage print and the other in white with I heart Mommy and I heart Daddy( in purple, green, blue , and pink). I laid it out one on top of the other cutting a 4 by 4 inch square from all for corners and then 4 in cuts about 2 inches apart all the way around. Once all this was done I tied the two 4 inch strips together in a double knot, repeat until I was back at the first knot I tied together. Ta.da...Finished. Very easy and quick. I think I just might make some more of these type blankets.
I will be starting another blanket in the next few days. Hoping to have it finished by the time my sister in law Jenny goes in to have her baby boy. Once again another pattern being used on this one. I planning on making it into a rag quilt. I have done a lot of looking at different websites, pictures, and even a video on how to make it and it looks like it is going to be easy to do this one as well. Plus, I wanted to see if I could do it because a friend of mine asked me to make some lap quilts for her as Christmas gifts for her grand-babies. So if this is another quick one to do then I think I could get them done in time. Still not for sure if they both with be rag type or if I might do one of them in the knotted form. Either way I'll worry about that later.
I got to leave y'all for the night, it getting late and I still need to go eat some dinner. Till the nest post.
Few Days Later
***This was not how I wanted this post to go. I just started typing after reading another post and had some things on my mind so I just posted what I had going on in my head. I did not mean for this to sound crazy and in no way want anyone to think ill of me for posting what I did. I made use of my feelings back then and I have moved on since those feelings.
Just to touch on some of what I post a few day ago. I have not told Bill yet that I said on here that I want to try and have a baby again. I will though and it will be a process this time that will more then likely take a few years before it is accomplished so no hurry I have time still. But what I was going to touch on was that I said no know really what happened and why I quit trying. It was stressful, hurtful at time and just down right drove me crazy the way it all was coming about and I think I drove myself to depression in all that quick process that we went through. The Christmas Eve Announcement 2004 (how I refer to my BIL and his wife telling everyone they were exception.) was no help to my emotional state but I hide very well how I felt inside and had to deal with on my own with out telling no one what I was going through because it was their happy time and I did not want to sound or be look like a pitiful person who wanted attention. I in no way wanted that but I did want what they had or were about to have I should say. I was and still am happy for them but I was in my mind dying inside because here we were trying for a baby and nothing was happening. Then came the exciting news for us, we were going to be adopting a baby. YEAH is what I was saying and screaming finally our turn at bring in a new little one to the family. You see my sister Amanda found out for sure some time in December 2005 that she was in fact expecting again but was very unwanted, so she called us two days before Christmas asking if we wanted to adopt the child she was having. You know we just had to. We had already watch her give up another child for adoption even though he went to a very loving home, we will never get to see how he turns out. There where lots of concerns with adopting a child my sister did not want and everyone had an opinion on it but we did not let that get us down but it did hurt at some of the comments that were made like "sister cousin" and then there were the feeling that I started having just by the way some people acted around us like she was not really a part of our family because we weren't her biological parents (still get that feeling to this day and they may not even realize that they put off that impression.)
That is how we get to being broke all the time, losing our home and owing money to people but getting the BEST GIFT A PERSON COULD EVER ASK FOR.!!! Ashtyn was born on the 17 of April 2006. She was the most wonderful and precious thing I had ever seen and she was in my arms the moment she was born. I would never take back the things we did to get where we are today, everything was for a reason and God's will or at least that is what I believe in my heart. She was brought to me to show me that good things do happen even when you feel like the world is out to get you. That enough for now on that but feel free to leave me comments and question about I will sure answer to my best ability.
Exciting News!!!
Just one more week before Ashtyn and I go to NRH, TX to help my brother Richard and his wife Jenny out when there second child is born on the 29th of October. I am so excited for them they have a daughter already who is just a year old and now they are expecting a boy. They still have not settled on a name yet as far as I know so hopefully by the time he greets the world they will have decided. This means that we will be celebrating Halloween with my family this year, it is going to be so much fun and busy weeks to come. Thinking about Halloween Ashtyn and I sat down at the kitchen table and made some tissue paper ghost and painted in fall colors. I painted a few pumpkins and she sort of did her own impression of one. Bill took some pictures so I am included one.
OK, so this all sounds like I have post about a lot of thing and I think it is a good stopping point for now. Till the next entry.

Start Now or Never.
I thought I might start writing this again or at least try and start again. I need to put up some thing to remind me sometimes to write things down because I think I think to much sometimes or maybe all the time. I mean I think about everything from what we are going to have for dinner, am I doing a good job raising Ashtyn, to what on earth do my friends and family think of me, oh there I go again now I am thinking what must they think of me thinking about what they are thinking of me. Te hee that just crazy but I am and I will be the first to admit it. I AM CRAZY!
Today has been a pretty good day so far minus the uncooperative 4yr. old. Being the kind of mom I am and trying to just ware the girl out for once I decided to take Ashtyn to lunch at McD's so she could play in the play area. That was a funny time in there, she climbed to the top and then started saying, "mommy I am scared" but I know she really wasn't because she climbs on the jungle gyms and the furniture at home(even though I say not to). I think I just my take her to the park tomorrow and let her ride her scooter, I just wish the apartments had a play area because I hate having to drive the truck just to take her to the park but got to do what I got to do.
I read and posted to my niece's facebook today and it brought out some feelings that I thought I had tucked away a while back but turns out I did no such thing. I ...still...want to have...a...baby! Yes that is right I said it and yes that does bring up a lot of nervous, excited, scared, crazy emotional feelings deep in my stomach that make my head spin. We've been down this road before and the turn out was not so good. Not everyone knows for sure why we just never had one of our own and that was because it was something that was kept between Bill and I and maybe a few people might know but probably not everything. I was told and partially knew myself that I had PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) , screwed up periods that lasted for months on end with a week without one for a few times over the course of no telling how many years. The periods being all screwed up were nothing new to me, I would go a few months without having one when we first started dating and they had been that way since I first started having one around 11 yrs old. So, back to being told by the doctor that it was in fact PCOS by what I described to him and then again by another doctor when we moved. we did the lose weight thing and started on metformin and then added clomid, this was in turn suppose to help with regulating my monthly and then help to get us preggers. So not what happened, I did get a bit more regular but my moods where oh so not good. It effected my job and my marriage. When I went back to the doctor with no success he was going to refer me to a specialist but hello that was just no where in our budget, just no way possible even with the health insurance we had at the time. Also there was the fact that people around me were having babies and it seemed like it was getting shoved in my face that we did not have one yet. People were just not helping by saying oh it will happen just give it time and relax, OH then the one that really just stuck like a knife right through my heart "Bill probably can't have none anyways because he had gotten chicken pox at a late age," I was crushed and still am a little just think about it. So, I just decided after talking it over with Bill that it just wasn't in the cards for us to keep going that route right then and left it up to nature to take its course because I had been having a period normally again. Nature was not getting us no where but backwards and worse this time because it was like the flood gates opened up and a lot crazy psycho feelings came out and I hated everything and everyone, I felt like Bill was repulsed by me and everyone thought I was some kind of evil person...to the point that it seemed like they did not want me around them or their children and I tried my best to make a connection with everyone, I wanted to be a part of their lives and them be a part of mine. Especially if we weren't going to be having children of our own anytime soon. From the time of finding out to just letting nature take it own time we moved had my sister Amanda and her daughter live with us for about a year then she moved back to North Texas and it was just Bill and I again by our self doing the everyday thing. No thinking about or trying to have a baby because it was to painful and emotional at that point. There is more but this will do for now, I am going to keep on writing in the days to come seems to help me out so that nothing gets bottled up and exploding all over someone by accident.

Day 1
Today is the start of a some what new me. I am taking the advise of some very important people in my life and writing down what goes on in my life whether it be good or bad. No more holding it all in, no more worrying about what some may think of me after I say what I need to say. THIS IS MY SPACE AND I WILL SAY WHAT IS ON MY MIND. This will be my new diary of sorts a place where I put those things down and move on, where good things will be remembered, stress will be no more. My hope and dreams will always be here. My crafty side will show through. I hope to make this an everyday thing and hope that who all comes by walks away knowing that everything happens for a reason.
